The award winning Anchor & Hope Pub and Great Queen Street Restaurant asked BDS Web to create fully responsive, multi-platform compatible websites. We were asked to keep the sites simple and make it easy to update food menus which change daily. Our easy to use Content Management System (CMS) makes it simple for the staff to update menus with little technical experience.
Customers can now view menus off site, even on the way to the pub or restaurant on their phone, and potential visitors can get an idea of what's on the menu.
Our design team had some important decisions to make when thinking about mobile users. Our research suggested that mobile users were keen to get to certain information like contact details, opening times and directions as quickly as possible. This led us to making this key information accessible from the home page so that users don't have to navigate too much.
Both sites use the same wireframes which has two benefits, firstly it kept costs down and secondly it ensured continuity across the businesses, whilst basic colour changes enable the websites to remain distinct.
Having made the decision to finally have a web presence we needed a way to publish our menus with as little effort as possible. The Ehaus CMS has enabled us to do just that.
